I know it’s been a minute, but I’m going to be I know it’s been a minute, but I’m going to be re-attempting to do my monthly vendor appreciation post, and for this month I want to shout out to a good friend of mine, Yami with @magicaleventsbyyami. Even though we don’t have a pic with each other officially I promise we are good friends! After moving home from college in 2016, even though weddings still weren’t my main line of work, I’d still do them on the side for extra cash and they were enjoyable for me to be a part of them! My good friend from HS @sgrivera926 had asked me to photograph her wedding and I said I’m all in! Wedding day comes, and that’s when I meet Yami for the first time, who my friend had hired to be her planner. We had hit it off well for the first time and wanted to remain in contact so she could refer me to her future clients. With that, she invited me into the local Wedding Professionals group, which gave me the chance to network and become good friends with wedding pros who I work with to this day. Fast forward to the pandemic in 2020, everything and everyone gets shut down. Weddings are cancelled and all! During this time, I elected to transition into video rather than photo seeing the demand for video rise due to the pandemic. Yami reaches out to me during this time because she’s wanting to create macro elopement packages for couples who could no longer have traditional weddings when they were suppose to. She knew I was transitioning and asked if she could use my video services as part of her package. Even though I had no videos to date to showcase, she said she trusted in my quality and judgement and still wanted to use me for video. I said absolutely lets do this!
